People have asked me, in times past, how can you believe there is a God when there is so much evil in the world? It seems so stupid!
First thing, evil is a choice, people do not have to be that way, all of it comes from the desire for power, money, anger, revenge, all the things that end up filling the gap in one’s heart and soul if one does not have a relationship with God.
My "faith" in God is way beyond just simple belief. I believe in God the same way I believe in the Sun and its Sunsets, or the world. If I based my belief on just what I see then the world would be flat and the sun just a big light bulb somewhere up there in the sky, not 94.222 million miles away. But I am smarter than that, I see the facts, the evidence, to know the truth. It is the same with my God, I have experienced and seen Him at work, and I KNOW he is real and that he loves me. I know my parents are real, my wife is real, and so is my God. It is just that simple. What takes faith, is knowing what does he want me to do? Which direction should I go in life? Will he take me through a bad situation to the other side? Will He save me from drowning in a sea of troubles? That can be a bit more difficult to understand.
That takes prayer, conversation with God, and a whole lot of trust.
Psalm 125
1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people
both now and forevermore.
3 The scepter of the wicked will not remain
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use
their hands to do evil.
4 Lord, do good to those who are good,
to those who are upright in heart.
5 But those who turn to crooked ways
the Lord will banish with the evildoers.
Peace be on Israel.
