Mabry Mill
TWO MEN WILL BE IN THE FIELD
one will be taken and the other left.
Two women will be grinding in the mill, one will be taken and the other left.
Watch, therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
Matthew 24: 40-42.
From the book Walking With God in America by Ken Duncan:
The Mabry Mill stands as a monument to the enduring spirit of the mountain people. It was constructed in the early 1900s by a man whose family had owned the property for over a hundred years. He built it to harness the stream’s power for his many businesses. After Ed Mabry died, the mill eventually became a tourist attraction for demonstrating pioneer mountain life. Sometimes a sight like this time-tested, beautiful mill will remind us of the fact that no matter how hard you work in this life to build success, you can’t take it with you. Others in the future may admire your life or accomplishments, but your part is done. You, we, only have a short span-just one lifetime of an unknown quantity of days to do anything that matters. Be sure to make Jesus a priority.
